The Road to Hell by Milton Glaser

The walls of my studio have collected quotes, images, and other ephemera over the years. One of the best is an article torn out of a past issue of Metropolis magazine — Milton Glaser‘s The Road to Hell. It outlines 12 steps to you-know-where for a designer. Things such as “Designing an ad for a product whose frequent use could result in the user’s death” and “Designing a promotion for a diet product that you know doesn’t work.” Of course, it all applies to the communications work of writers and clients too.
