In the Books offers a look at the year’s most interesting business themes and ideas. To support 800-CEO-Read’s core business of bookselling, it presents great business books—and the solutions they contain—as a way to help people address a range of business issues.
The visual language includes elements from past editions but was evolved to offer something new for a repeat audience and also for the 800-CEO-Read brand. Engraving-like drawings, classic text styles, and literal and abstract representations of books come together to create a piece that engages the reader and reflects 800-CEO-Read’s passion for distributing business books and ideas. The underlying template was designed to be elegant, easy to read, and very adaptable to different sections. The piece is an entertaining and informative journey through a year’s worth of great business ideas.
In the Books has been selected as a winner in the American Graphic Design Awards for two years in a row; in 2009 and 2010. In the Books 2008 was also included in The New Big Book of Layouts from HarperCollins.
