The Little BIG Things

The design direction for The Little BIG Things: 163 Ways to Pursue Excellence at Work by Tom Peters set out to reflect Tom’s energy in a sophisticated, muscular way. One of the main challenges with this project was to make very spirited and atypical content fit into the form of a traditional hardcover business book. It was also important to provide styles — with clearly-defined elements and typographic hierarchy for chapters, sidebars, special sections, and more — that Harper Studio/Harper Collins could apply to well over 500 pages once the direction with samples pages was provided. All in all, the result is a very thick book packed with Tom’s insight and enthusiasm for what boils down to very doable ways to pursue Excellence (with a capital E) in all that you do.

The book’s endpapers outline Tom’s “19 Es of Excellence” and a companion poster was also designed to provide a good reminder for an office wall.
